Hainan Airlines (HU) will launch a new service from Chongqing to Rome on April 27, 2015, the Haikou-based carrier said on Friday at a press conference. The to-be-launched Chongqing-Rome service is the first non-stop flight from southwest China to Italy. The twice-weekly service will operate on Mondays and Fridays with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, according to the airline. The Rome-bound flight is scheduled to take off from Chongqing at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Rome at 7:50 a.m. local time, with the return flight departing Rome at 12:50 p.m. and arriving in Chongqing at 5:45 a.m. the next day.
